Prior to earning her law license, Susan Soto was a teacher and principal in Texas public schools for close to 20 years. She graduated from South Texas College of Law and opened a boutique law practice representing teachers, students and parents against schools and school districts, Pre-K to post-graduate, across the State of Texas. During that time, she was published in The Houston Lawyer and in local newspapers on topics relating to school law. After closing her private practice in 2020, she worked at Lone Star Legal Aid and in 2024, accepted a position with Houston Volunteer Lawyers to launch the first medical-legal partnership in Fort Bend County.
She has devoted her entire professional life to serving vulnerable communities and her current role as the Staff Attorney for the Houston Volunteer Lawyers/AccessHealth Medical-Legal Partnership demonstrates her commitment to underserved populations. Susan's awards include recognition by H Texas magazine, Houstonia magazine and the Houston Lawyer Referral Service, and she was a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2021.
She is a member of the Texas Bar College's Society of Legal Scholars and a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
