Denise S. Young, is a highly experienced attorney with a broad range of legal expertise. With over 19 years of legal experience and more than 24 years of professional business experience, she has established herself as a skilled practitioner. She earned her BA in Material Logistics Management from Michigan State University in 1996; a Juris Doctorate from Michigan State University College of Law in 1999. She also holds two Master of Arts degrees from Webster University, specializing in Procurement and Acquisitions Management (2008) and Business & Organizational Security Management (2010).

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Young has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland University College and DeVry University from April 2009 to January 2015. During this time, she taught a variety of online courses to both graduate and undergraduate students, covering subjects such as purchasing/procurement, materials management/supply chain management, contracts/transactions, logistics, negotiations, pricing, and ethical and legal issues in professions.

Ms. Young has also held notable positions in the public sector. In 2006, she became the Procurement and Contracts attorney for the Texas Building and Procurement Commission, where she skillfully negotiated transactions for all statewide procurements and purchasing initiatives. She then transitioned to the role of Innovation Technology (IT) and contracts attorney for the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts in 2008, where she excelled in drafting contracts and request for proposals for major IT initiatives. During this time, she also trained agency managers on statewide procurement regulations and played a pivotal role in significant contracts, such as the statewide Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems procurement and the construction of a stand-alone data center for the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. In 2010, she became the senior contracts and procurement counsel for the Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority in Austin, Texas, overseeing various legal aspects related to outsourcing initiatives, bus refresh and procurement, union matters, construction and lease contracts, litigation counsel, ethics training, policy development, federal grants and procurement, and legal matters pertaining to rail operations. She also held a prominent position as one of two attorneys reporting directly to the Board of Directors.

Currently, Ms. Young operates a thriving private practice, providing legal services and serving as general counsel to individuals, small businesses, and non-profit organizations. She is affiliated with Rocket Lawyer and the Texas Legal Protection Plan as an on-call attorney. Additionally, she holds the esteemed titles of certified attorney ad litem and former certified Texas Procurement Manager. Ms. Young is an active member of professional associations, including the American Bar Association, the Fort Bend Bar Association, and the Fort Bend Criminal Bar Association. She is licensed to practice law in Michigan, Texas, and the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
